Five Recipes to Conquer in the Instant Pot

The phenomenon of FOMO is a real thing, every Christmas you have an item that becomes the absolute must-have item of the year and of course people like me, who lives under a rock, always miss the marker. Surprisingly the FOMO Item for this past Christmas was an Instant Pot, every blog site mentioned it, there was a copious number of articles broadcasting the ‘absolute best recipes to make in an instant pot’, its occurrence almost made me question how I missed it. Well, I did, and Santa didn’t double back after Christmas to bring me one. This was the strange part of adulting I had mixed feelings about, buying my own gifts and then relishing in the excitement. So, without further adieu… let’s go down the list of five recipes to make. Hopefully, by the end of my post, you’ll be adding an Instant pot to your shopping cart and making one of these recipes.

  1. Perfectly Cooked Rice

Yes, I said it perfectly cooked rice, and no this isn’t a drill. You can make perfect, fluffy, cooked rice in the comforts of your own kitchen or dorm. I cannot tell you how many things I’ve done to achieve this, washing it off before a meal, soaking it in cold water, letting it cook for an hour in a crockpot It became too much to achieve it. But now this pressure contraption lets me dump the rice in and leave it unattended to come back to starchy goodness, without breaking a sweat. This can be good for individuals who do meal plans or are big on eating healthy lunches.

With these easy tips, you’ll see it's simple to learn how to cook perfect rice in the Instant Pot with minimal measuring. The result is fluffy and flavorful rice that’s easy to prepare. | platingsandpairings.comPerfectly Cooked Rice

  2. Mac and Cheese

The face of college hunger. There is no need for boxed varieties or microwavable pouches anymore. This Instant Pot can allow you to experience the authentic flavor and add different toppings, cheeses, etc. The best part is knowing what’s going into your body because you are making it. In less than 20 minutes you can have the feel of a home cooked dinner and be the talk of the dorm.

  3. Popcorn

You heard it right, there is something about homemade popcorn that tastes so delicious. Imagine movie theatre popcorn in your living room, without the crazy price tag. This is all attainable, besides its better than the microwave kind or the stovetop kind that you must babysit. Add a little melted butter and caramel drizzle and tune into your fav movie.

Now don’t be alarmed normally when anything says faux your natural reaction is to back away, but this is the real deal chicken dinner meal. It’s only considered faux because there isn’t an actual rotisserie involved, but you don’t miss it. The chicken still comes out crispy, juicy, and tender in under 30 minutes giving you plenty of time to whip up some sides… Instant Pot 1, Rotisserie 0.Your family is going to love this Instant Pot Faux-tisserie Chicken just as much as the ones you buy in the store, but you get to control the ingredients | cookingwithcurls.comFaux-tisserie Chicken

  1. Hi! I think you really nailed the formatting of this blog. It looks really professional, like you’d been doing this for years.I was very confused though when I clicked on the link for the post that said there was 5 recipes to make, and the 5 item had no recipes. It was just things the Instant Pot was capable of making.

One last thing, I have no idea what FOMO is and it was never explained. Explaining that and then using the acronym would be great,

Oops, very last thing, but we just went over it this week, we can’t use someone else’s pictures.

After working out the kinks, I would 100% come back to your blog!!

    1. Hi Robin,
Great feedback! Firstly, FOMO is fear of missing out. It’s this strange phenomenon that allegedly people experience from missing out on popular events both personal and culturally. With including someone else’s pictures while it was a bit frowned on it is acceptable because this is a culmination of different recipes from different bloggers, I provide my personal pick of recipes and I included links and pictures of the outcome which is the links below them so it allows me to give each blogger credit for me using their recipe. But thank you so much, now I know some new things moving forward

  2. Hi,

I am a big foodie and I love this! As a busy mom, sometimes cooking dinner is so stressful especially when you have homework to do with the kids, your own homework, and everything else that needs to get done before you put them to bed. I have seen the instant pot before and did look into getting one because my sister has one. But, I absolutely love my crock pot and do a majority of my cooking with a crock pot. And mainly because I don’t have room for one more kitchen appliance. The formatting is perfect for this post and I laughed when you wrote “santa didn’t double back after christmas.” Awesome Post!

    1. Hi Channa,
The beauty is that it’s like the popular best friend of the crockpot, you won’t even need it. This appliance does everything and you still get the same results that you would get from a crockpot, but less time. It’s the best thing since sliced bread lol I swear.

  3. Hi Chante 🙂
You are definitely fueling my inner foodie with all these delicious recipes. I love desserts and I have to day the NY style cheesecake is my favorite. I’m a new mother to be and I think it’s safe to say I need to invest in a one pot in order to save time while cooking for the hubby and tending to the baby 🙂

    1. Hi Relly,
I’m happy that you enjoyed my page you should definitely invest in one, they’re so easy, quick, manageable and so stress free I mean it makes everything from yogurt to popcorn, who would’ve thought?
